RRLW invited to host Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) from UK Overseas Territories

Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) across the UK Overseas Territories (UKOTs) serve as senior health policy advisors and work collaboratively through networks to tackle shared regional and global health challenges.

The aim of the visit was to give CMOs a feel for community-based projects that address non-communicable diseases like CVD. RRLW delivered a presentation emphasising the critical need for liaison between healthcare professionals and voluntary community organisations, particularly regarding improving health outcomes among Black African communities and reducing health inequalities that persist within this population.

Our new website is now live!

Our aim for 2026 is to craft a simple but powerful brand presence across digital and print, and ensure a clear and consistent user experience from start to finish.

The website redesign is one of the main changes you'll notice, but keep an eye out for other improvements to come across the brand — from our logo and socials to our print materials. And we'll be documenting the creative process behind our new identity in a soon-to-come blog post — stay tuned!

RRLW shortlisted for the MJ Awards

Red Ribbon Living Well was shortlisted for the prestigious MJ Awards 2026, a title honouring outstanding achievements at the local level.

The MJ Awards acknowledge the tremendous effort of those in local government who dedicate themselves to supporting local communities, facing challenge after challenge, but never giving up in the face of adversity.

Judges' Comments

"A grounded, community-first approach that actually listens. Built on trusted relationships, local champions and consistent follow-through. It tackles long-standing mistrust with practical, everyday nudges that matter.

Embedded in neighbourhood teams, it feels built to last and squarely aimed at residents who've been underserved for too long."

At Red Ribbon, a core tenet of our 2026 strategy is to grow our young adult audience. This month, two student volunteers joined Red Ribbon to help us take the organisation to the next level.

By bringing fresh ideas and new perspectives, together our aim is to ensure RRLW’s critical, stigma-busting messaging continues to resonate with the next generation of South-East Londoners so that we can expand our services and support even more people living with and affected by HIV.
